Mr Miles is built with open-source and third-party components. This page lists the major dependencies used in the Android and iOS apps. Full license notices ship with the app (About / Open-source licenses screen) and reflect the version you have installed.

Major components

  • AndroidX / Jetpack Compose (Android) — UI and Android support libraries
  • SwiftUI / Apple platform frameworks (iOS) — UI and system frameworks
  • Room (Android) / on-device persistence (iOS) — local logbook database
  • Hilt (Android) / equivalent DI on iOS — dependency injection where used
  • Google Maps SDK (Android) — map tiles and geocoding (off in Local-only mode). iOS uses Apple MapKit and CLGeocoder instead, not the Google Maps SDK.
  • Google Play Services Location (Android) / Core Location (iOS) — location for trip detection
  • Google Play Billing (Android) — Pro purchases / subscriptions
  • StoreKit / App Store (iOS) — Pro purchases / subscriptions
  • Firebase Analytics (Android and iOS) — only if you turn telemetry on; off by default
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Android and iOS) — only if you turn telemetry on; off by default

Platform note: not every component ships on every OS build. The in-app licences screen for your install is authoritative for that binary.

Google Maps / proprietary notices

On Android, map display and geocoding (when Local-only mode is off) use Google Maps Platform / Maps SDKs. Your use of those features is also subject to:

iOS map display uses Apple MapKit, not Google Maps. Apple’s terms apply to those features.

Copyright and license texts for these and other transitive dependencies are included in the app’s open-source licenses screen (or accompanying notice files). Nothing on this website grants you rights beyond those licenses and the Terms.

Mr Miles does not use AdMob. There is no Mr Miles account system and no Firebase backup cloud for the logbook.

Updates

This page may change when we update dependencies or notices. The current version is always at https://mrmiles.app/licenses. Full licence texts also ship in the app. Checking the page (or the in-app licences screen) after updates is your responsibility; we do not require a separate in-app re-confirmation for licence-list updates.
